Meet Our Dentists
Dr. Byron Escoe, D.D.S. graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1982. As a National Health Service Scholarship recipient, he completed a payback assignment as a Commissioned Officer in the US Public Health Service, assigned to the Indian Health Service in Pawhuska, OK. From this assignment , he gained extensive experience in Pediatric Dentistry.
In 1986, Dr. Escoe did an inter-service transfer to the US Navy. His Naval service included tours aboard the USS Ponce and USS Detroit, as well as assignments in Guam, Singapore and various locations along the East Coast. He completed extensive rotations in Oral Surgery, Periodontic, and Endodontics and in 1998 completed an Advanced Practice Residency in General Dentistry. Captain Escoe's last tour was Director and Senior Dental Officer at Branch Dental Clinic, Naval Air Station, Brunswick, Me.
Dr. Escoe is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and has maintained an agressive continuing education program in postgraduate dentistry that includes implants, esthetics, periodontics, crown and bridge, root canals and surgery.
Byron, Darlene, and "the girls" fell in love with Maine when they transferred here 16 years ago. After traveling the world, they found their place to plant themselves. They enjoy skiing, camping, boating and unbeatable quality of life our great state offers.
Dr. Daniel Figueiredo, D.M.D. "Dr Figs"; knew he wanted to be a dentist at the young age of 7. As a talented artist, he enjoys the unique blend of science and art that goes into creating and maintaining a beautiful smile. One of his favorite parts of dentistry is the reward of building great realationships with his patients and their families.
Dr. Figueiredo graduated with his Bachelors degree from the The College of New Jersey in 2008. He earned his Doctorate from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2012 and relocated to Maine immediately following graduation.
Dr. Figueiredo is an active member of The Academy of General Dentistry and is currently working towards a multi-year mastership. Dr. Figueiredo attends at least one continuing education course a month and also has subscriptions to numerous journals to ensure he is up to date with the newest research and technology.
As a New Jersey native, Dr. Figueiredo enjoys all of the outdoor activities Maine has to offer. He shoots Trap and Sporting Clays competively year round and serves on both Trap and Sporting Clays Committees in the state. In the summer, he and his wife enjoy fishing, paddle- boarding and road biking. In the winter they enjoy cross country skiing. He loves to travel with his wife. They travel outside the country at least once a year and his favorite countries so far have been Thailand and Vietnam.
